Formula BMW is the perfect stepping stone from karts to cars. With 140 break horse power and weighting 500kgs with a driver it requires a very simular driving style to Formula 3. The Championships run in America, Europe and Asia-pacific regions. The class gives drivers the perfect grounding to move on to the Toyota Series or Formula Renault in Europe. Many of the drivers that have won a Formula BMW Championship have gone to Formula 1 like Sebastian Vettel and Ralf Schumacher. 

Earl shone in this series and ended with a number of lap records, and round wins and placements. He finished the series with the following titles:
